This notecard displays a genuine U.S. postage stamp in original unused condition in a protective plastic mount to retain the value of the stamp. This stamp was issued as part of the Wildlife Conservation series of stamps on July 20, 1970. The North American Bison, or buffalo was originally hunted for food and hides by the Native Americans. During the western exploration, and the creation of the transcontinental railroad, thousands of buffalo were slaughtered. The continued settlement of the west, further reduced the buffalo herds to near extinction placing the buffalo on the endangered species list for many years. Notecard is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".
